The HVAC/R Technician trade program at TLC offers hands-on training and practical experience.

Our Oxford training facility features functioning workshops where students learn by doing. While hands-on experience is emphasized, some classroom theory is also included to support the technical aspects of the field.

HVACR 101 (HVACR Technician Program)

TLC’s accredited HVAC/R Technician Program offers hands-on training in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. Students will prepare for key licensing exams and gain essential skills for a career in system sizing, installation, service, repair and maintenance in both residential and commercial applications.

The program can be completed in 17 weeks.

HVACR 103 (HVACR and Facility Maintenance Program)

TLC’s accredited Facility Maintenance Program provides essential theory and hands-on training in facility operation and maintenance across various areas, including HVAC systems, commercial refrigeration, wastewater treatment, industrial boiler operation, and renewable energy technologies. In addition, students will earn the clock hours required to take related state licensing exams.

The program can be completed in 42 weeks.

HVACR 01 & 02 (Combined Oil & Gas Heating Technology Program)

TLC's accredited HVACR 01 & 02 program equips students with essential knowledge and skills in residential oil and gas heating systems, including burner technology, installation, service, repair, and maintenance. Students will also be prepared for the oil burner technician license in the state of Massachusetts.

The program can be completed in 17 weeks.

HVACR 03/05/06 (HVACR Combined AC & Refrigeration)

TLC's accredited HVACR 03/05/06 course provides students with foundational knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Students will prepare for the EPA certification in refrigerant transition and recovery, with the certification test conducted in-house. This course also includes 100 hours of refrigeration theory, which is required for refrigeration licensing in Massachusetts.

The program can be completed in 17 weeks.
