Description

The HVACR 101 Technician Program at TLC offers hands-on training and practical experience to equip students for successful careers in the HVACR field.

Course Objective:

Students will learn the fundamentals of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, including system sizing, installation, service, repair, and maintenance for both residential and commercial applications.

Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared for the Oil Burner Massachusetts State Licensing exams and will earn 100 clock hours of refrigeration principles. The course also includes preparation for the Refrigerant Transition and Recovery EPA certification.


The program can be completed in 17 weeks. 

Course Outline:
  • HVACR 01 & 02 (Combined Oil and Gas Heating Technology Program).
  • HVACR 03/05/06 (HVACR Combined AC & Refrigeration).
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction.
  • 100 clock hours of refrigeration theory as required by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure for technician and contractor licensing.
  • EPA Certification for transition recovery of refrigerants.
  • Air distribution and duct sizing, air quality and control.

Schedule: Day or Evening, Full Time - 4 days per week
